Ed Morrell of Mortex Apparel Manufacturing located in Wendell, NC was recognized
this year at the Assistance League Triangle Area’s Annual Meeting Luncheon by
the presentation of the prestigious Operation School Bell Award. This award
is given to honor those who have had a direct and positive effect on the Operation School
Bell (OSB)
program in a local chapter’s community and thus warrants recognition from the
National Assistance League organization. In presenting the award, the
program’s chairman, Linda Weiner applauded Ed Morrell for his continuous
support. Among his contributions, Mr. Morrell has for the past five years
donated distributions to two of the nine elementary schools participating in
the program. Since the signature program began in 1998, as many as 6,668
children have been presented new clothing and shoes.
